Gift will support the School of Life and its mission to prepare young people for successful, independent adulthoods
BOSTON, Mass. — August 17, 2026 — Legacy Pathways Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing young people for the opportunities and responsibilities of adulthood, is proud to announce that it has received a generous gift from the Red Sox Foundation in support of its School of Life program.
The support will help Legacy Pathways Foundation equip young people with practical life skills, workforce readiness, mentorship, and real-world learning experiences designed to help them navigate adulthood with confidence and build pathways toward greater independence and long-term success.
“As a growing nonprofit organization, support like this represents more than a financial investment—it is a meaningful vote of confidence in our mission and in the potential of the young people we are preparing to serve,” said Wendy Alterno, Founder and President of Legacy Pathways Foundation. “We are incredibly grateful to the Red Sox Foundation for believing in our vision and investing in the future of young people in our communities.”
The School of Life is at the heart of Legacy Pathways Foundation’s mission. Through engaging instruction, mentorship, hands-on experiences, and community connections, the program helps young people develop practical skills that extend beyond the classroom—from financial literacy and career readiness to communication, leadership, health and wellness, housing, and independent living.
The support from the Red Sox Foundation reflects a shared commitment to creating educational opportunities that help young people reach their potential. The Red Sox Foundation, the official team charity of the Boston Red Sox, works to make a difference in the lives of youth, families, veterans, and communities by improving health, educational, and recreational opportunities.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to the Red Sox Foundation for investing in Legacy Pathways Foundation and for its continued commitment to expanding opportunities for young people,” Alterno added. “Together, we are helping young people learn, lead, live—and leave a legacy.”
